Alice Miceli is a Brazilian visual artist and photographer whose work explores landscapes affected by historical violence, environmental degradation, and conflict. She combines investigative fieldwork with innovative photographic techniques to reveal hidden, intangible, and contested histories.
Notable projects include the "Chernobyl Project," in which she developed a radiographic method to visualize residual radiation in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, and "In Depth (minefields)," a visual mapping of post-conflict terrain in Cambodia, Colombia, Bosnia, and Angola that exposes the latent dangers of landmines and other explosive remnants of war and conflict.
Currently, Alice is investigating urban warfare, exploring military strategies in cities transformed into battlefields. She is a forthcoming fellow at the Clark Art Institute, where she will further develop this research.
